Post Your Doom Picture (Part 2)

Not the best thing since it's my first real WAD, but it's quite a start. Decided to come up with a idea with the Demons taking over a church inside the UAC or on an base (reference to DOOM 2016 obviously).

Will be adding more to it.

Looks decent, but I really suggest you replace the ceiling texture to a flat instead of a wall texture. Wall textures on the ceilings just don't look good.

I have a thing for people who have a thing for libraries. :D

Cool stuff Rayzik!

Yeah, I can totally see it now. I'm just COMPLETELY glad that it even looks decent.

I'll change it since I'm working on it right now.

I think it's unpleasant for the eyes when just about everything on the screen is red. With some colors it works better but red is just too intensive.

It's hurting my eyes as well, I might just make the area kind of dark Instead of the just having red hues.

Psst, by the way. Does anyone know how to trigger a monster trap in GZDOOM Builder? Going a bit off topic here.

Added in a red pulsing light in the beginning to add a little to the mood.

Put in some coffins and some broken ones as well

Basically the same thing, only with Improved lighting.

Added in a unholy cathedral.

More of the cathedral.

Maybe I should post these in their own thread as a WIP, but I thought I'd share them here.

I think you could raise the ceiling up a bit higher, especially in the unholy cathedral. Couldbalso do with some light variation. Otherwise, looks great!

I kinda like the feel of "low budget" churches in some wads. They are more cozy than the monstrous ones that make you feel like a tiny insect or something.

Is that E2M4 Deimos Lab? If it is, well done! It's much different but you can still feel E2M4. It's a specific level and I like it as well.

Here's a whole bunch of screenshots from one of my stupid wads, that was, of course, never finished:

Spoiler

1st level:

2nd level:

The following screen is actually from another wad, which wasn't finished, too (i wanted to make a huge reactor room..):

All those screens were taken awhile ago and all these projects were forgotten..

Really dislike these curves tbh, they are unnaturaly smooth and perfect, which doesn't agree with the rest of the employed design desicions. Imo if you're using extremely curved lines, you should use them for pretty much everything in the map, otherwise it will look very inconsistent.

I strongly disagree, I think they look great and not at all "unnatural" in this instance.

Indeed, E2 is not called the Shores of Hell for nothing. Things like whole bases can be warped in any shape or form by Hell's influence and I can definitely see smooth curves starting to form on an otherwise polygonal base.

It's possible to make a curved brick wall...small or large..can be shaped you know~ :) Seeing straight lines everywhere gets a little old so I welcome the curves!

That's meta as hell.

The curves look really hot. Shots #3 and #5 are simplistically square in comparison and that looks odd, but feedback in threads like this tends to be counterproductive, so whatever.

I think Plutonia has really good curves because they don't consist of 100 vertices. In fact, many of them exist entirely on the 32 grid and yet they look neat enough. But this is too much.

They look hilariously jagged.
