That isn't a bad thing when done right. I for one think the screenshot looks great and is a testament to how symmetry is beautiful when used correctly.

Nah, I just replaced the blue torch like Eternal did in 32 Inch Nails. I dig spawn cubes, what can I say?

It'll be MAP03 for Toilet of the Gods. Decided to introduce some red to the mix since I like how the palette made it more orangey and warm. I'm a bit unsure since it's so intense, but I think I'll stick with it. It's like a weird glowing hot spot in a sea of dark cool colors.

Lmfao nice. The first and third screenshots look really cool, though. First in a "construction site" -type of way, third in a really trippy, creepy atmosphere -type of way.

Gotta love those broken graphics.
Nice job on that Mayhem map too, A.Gamma. Is the shadow on the last pic misaligned vertically from the pillars? Some third-dimension is always nice to see.

Yes, this is an actual hint for another level and also part of the secretest of secrets in this map.

Lighting always adds some quality to the map.

I ... really can't say that it helps at all with the fact that that area is just so damn boring to look at.

It could probably use a floor texture with some color and maybe some colorful accents to the walls, at least.

Protip: Update your video drivers.

Or if your graphic card just doesn't support OpenGL 3.0, download a 1.x build of GZDoom, as opposed to a 2.x build.

It looks genuinely cool, like a super-stylized thing. I'd enjoy a map that looked kinda like this but because of strong contrast rather than because of a glitch.

In fact it kinda reminds me of some scenes in Urban Brawl.

His other screenshots make me think of his map as of a joke map, so I'm pretty sure it is intentional.

Good point. I'm working with a very limited palette other than special areas and I can't make that part too complex (invisible teleporters, etc.), but I should work on the geometry.

The visual theme of the map is light sources creating darkness on stuff.
And while I cannot deny it's a joke map, it's... I don't know, I'm trying to do things that aren't your usual "Walk in, shoot demons, stop hell invading Earth" thing.

For example, in the other levels for this wad you read a book and are transported to a surreal, cthulhuesque place; A map with five different logic puzzles; Fixing a machine that makes "kid food" while making sure it's ambiguous whether it's food for kids or food out of kids. And in one the demons have captured an AI and are training it to generate demon porn, featuring images from an actual AI that does that, like http://i.imgur.com/AXvwKPT.png(ok, I did go full joke on this one).

@DMGUYDZ64 Have the void black texture surround everything and showing towards the object where you only see it on the objects' sides. That and maybe putting black outlines on everything but that's all I got :u

When I first played AD2, I was absolutely mindblown by the phenomenal art style. Very clever implementation.

In your example cupcake you could have done with raising the texture a couple of px so the black line surrounds the top, too! ;)
