Doesn't change the fact that cybie was "only" twice as tall as the BoH/Hell Knight and I want as many elements in the new Doom to be true to the old Doom as possible (without completely copying the old Doom).
I don't want the cybie to be as tall as Empire State Building, because that wouldn't "feel" like the Cybie, but I can't see why id wouldn't make a new boss monster (maybe make the full-size Icon o' Sin) which is really humongous.

Speaking of weapons, I'm guessing that the SMG in the video is the gun that the marine is using on the Ultimate Doom titlepic - boy has it changed :-P
Of course, they have transformed it completely (the new one is green, has an ammo counter display and has a bending magazine and seems larger).

Hold your horses.. I read in one of those Gamespot-interviews (I think) that some of that Gothic/Satanic stuff will be back. Wich is something I wouldn´t mind, as long is they make it fit into the tech-look.

Wait Silver, my noble steed...
As long as i remember Doom2 has brought lots of that Gothic/Satanic stuff on levels. Of course there was huge city combat levels but it was not made in sci-fi style...
In Doom we have had much more sci-fi dont you think so?

no. Episode 3 and 4 had too much gothic.

I reckon there could be some bits like the "nest" in Aliens,except hellish (IE-People stuck on the walls not to have implanted alien eggs,but just because it hurts..and bloody pentagrams and fleshy,bony,twisted bits stuck to the walls),also "hell" levels could be like the first level of "requiem: avenging angel" if anyones played that,only darker and with more form than a few twisting tunnels XD

gothic and satanic stuff will be there.it has to be there

even if i`d like to see satanic stuff.i don`t want to see too mmuch use of gothic stuff in one certain levelthe amout of this stuff should be around DOOM episode 2.the sugggested gothic level should be the last 3-4 level.player will realize the sense of danger,and he should find himself that he has stepped into the the hel already.

I never understood why does he have to approach several miles to the sun in order to recharge his powers. The goddamn Sun is at 149,500,000 km for crying out loud. What's the friggin difference?

I want the Chaingun to be like the Quake II chaingun, it starts off slow then works its way up in speed. Gives you that rush too, when you're like "COME ON, SHOOT FASTER!!" because you are trying to put something down for the count.

Nah, I want it to be more like the Venom gun in RtCW - nothing is more gay than a machinegun that you can't fire in bursts with. (Quake 2's chaingun was cool, but it's so far away from anything realistic - time to try a newer approach)

Yeah I hope they will make the transition seamless so that "hellish" stuff is gradually introduced instead of you step into the teleporter and "slam bang you're in hell". Some tech bits should also have crept in to the hell levels.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I've just spent 40 minutes or so playing the "X-Labs" bit of RTCW, and IMO the Venom Gun has the chaingun feel just right for a FPS game.

The chaingun in the leaked video had just the right whirring sound, but I couldn't hear the actual firing sound, so I dunno about it - let's just hope the firing sound will complement the cool whirring sound of the spinning barrels.

I can't imagine that the Doom 3 chainy will overheat like the venom, but let's just hope that it works in a cooler fashion than the Q2 one (and I'm told that the Q3A:TA one works exactly the same).

I'd like it to lose accuracy the longer you hold down the fire key (similar to the venom, but a little worse), but I don't think everyone would appreciate that.
