I saw them back in the 90ies in an magazine, and sme years ago fired up a google search for these pics. With success. :-D 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

GreyGhost Posted May 28, 2015 I suppose it's meant to simulate rigor mortis, or they decided to do a snuff video. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

HorrorMovieRei Posted May 28, 2015 Who would have played doomguy? Would he speak in the cutscenes? Would these cutscenes be adaptions of the end of episode texts? Would it be better than the movie? Why does the last one look like a driver's licence picture? So many questions that will never be answered... Also, I'm personally gonna call that thing a 3DemOn (get it?) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted May 28, 2015 ^ Chuck Norris. Yes. Yes. Yes. Because the background is generic. Also, I think I get it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Technician Posted May 28, 2015 I wish Doom could have been immortalized in some shitty mid nineties FMVs. Can anyone else think of any good games with FMVs besides Sonic CD? Also, I hope this is added to the wiki. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

SYS Posted May 28, 2015 Interesting find. Of course Doom guy is wearing a white shirt to show off the fake blood better. If the fmv's were on par with Doom comic we would've had a cinematic masterpiece :D 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Technician said:Can anyone else think of any good games with FMVs besides Sonic CD? Disruptor, which was originally made for the 3DO. Too bad that port got canceled, or I'd totally have it in my library. I could go on for hours about why I love this game: the music that gets more intense when you take damage, the fact that no two level environments are alike, the smooth controls... Killing Time wasn't good per-se, but it utilized FMV's in the best way possible: integrated them right into the levels, so the gameplay wouldn't stop every time an FMV started up. You could watch them at your liesure. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Clonehunter Posted May 29, 2015 Damn, I dig those pics. A Baron of Hell, or Pinky/Cyberdemon thing for sure. When I get back to a good editor I need a new Avatar. Dark FOrces II has the best FMVs imo. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
hobblinharry Posted May 29, 2015 Aw man these pics are awesome! I totally need a "3DO conversion" wad that implements the music and also these pics somehow. Maybe the first pic for title, not sure where to use the second two. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted May 29, 2015 Technician said:Can anyone else think of any good games with FMVs besides Sonic CD? Megarace. The gameplay is basic but fun enough, but when you add in the rad chiptune soundtrack and the hilarious FMVs, you get a real gem. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

dew Posted May 29, 2015 Technician said:I wish Doom could have been immortalized in some shitty mid nineties FMVs. Can anyone else think of any good games with FMVs besides Sonic CD? Gabriel Knight 2 is a good game and it was made fully in FMV. Though the two attributes are entirely uncorrelated. Clonehunter said:Dark FOrces II has the best FMVs imo. They mean well, but they come off as a bit cheap and cringy. The CGI effects are an obvious weak point, but the actors look kinda uncomfortable as well. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted May 29, 2015 We need a Kickstarter to finally bring these unrealized Doom FMVs to fruition. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
RightField Posted May 29, 2015 What we need is a Doom Comic FMV. With the same state-of-the-art quality and acting as the Resident Evil intro. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
StevieWolfe Posted May 29, 2015 That is the goofiest demon I've ever seen ever lmfao. He's basically meme worthy. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Revenant100 Posted May 30, 2015 It seems odd that Heineman claims no FMVs were created when the newsgroup post indicates something other than still images were publicly demonstrated by Art Data at some point. Granted, if they had actually completed any FMVs, I imagine they would have tacked them on to the port regardless just so they wouldn't have been a total waste on their part. However, Heineman's wording suggests that she wasn't privy to everything Art Data was up to. Perhaps this is too optimistic, but it seems like there's potentially more to the story here. Whether any tangible evidence has survived after so long is another story, but stranger things have surfaced these past few years. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
