Anyway, that pic is from the March 1995 issue of GameFan. Some old acquaintances of mine from the time actually went that year and saw this thing. I know they have way better pictures than that postage stamp sized one from the mag, as I remember seeing them at the time. I've been trying to get in contact with them again to see if I can get a hold of a copy of the pictures. I've had no luck so far, but if I do manage to acquire a higher quality picture, I plan on posting it here and the Doom Wiki as well. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

neubejiita Posted November 21, 2015 That is a Demon before cyberization. That would make a good Doom 4 monster. They could still claw the crap out of you, but have no fireball attacks. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Yes, someone already brought this up. But as long as you're bumping this old thread... Nuxius said:Some old acquaintances of mine from the time actually went that year and saw this thing. And if you do get your hands on them, could this FMV stuff qualify for its own wiki article? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Only similarities seem to be the fuzzy boots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYB7-ZgGrfU I love how it gives off the vibe of "Old people who don't actually know their source trying to make something hip and cool" 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I'm struggling to agree with that, but yeah... I think ultimately, I'm leaning on that side of the fence myself. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Clonehunter Posted December 3, 2015 By the way: The M60 "Jax"/Doomguy is holding: Is that the same Nerf Rambo gun used for the Plasma Rifle painted black? Or did it come in black and green versions? Or is it a different toy? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Jaxxoon R Posted December 12, 2015 I'm really sad these derpy FMVs never came to be. I could just imagine the "story" they'd shoehorn in being Repercussions-of-Evil-meets-Zelda-CDi level of wonderment. Also that Notsocyberdemon looks like he's about to do that thing where they exhale air onto people's bellies, but he forgot your supposed to lift the shirt up first. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The Civ Posted December 12, 2015 Some of these pictures seem to imply that the FMV's would try to shoehorn in more storyline. Assuming that guy on the left is supposed to be Doomguy, and considering that the woman being carried away appears that they would still be alive, then I'd like to think that the FMV's would have some half assed love interest/damsel in distress story crammed into it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Koko Ricky Posted December 12, 2015 You know, as corny as that costume is, it's not a terrible representation of the Baron. It makes me think that a reboot of the Doom movie with elaborate prosthetics and makeup and puppets and shit would be fun. Oh wait, didn't the original film use traditional effects for at least some of the monsters? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Impie Posted December 12, 2015 I'm just waiting for the custom sprite art that adds him to the game. Preferably better than this. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jaxxoon R Posted December 12, 2015 I kind of want to put him in Deem 2 now. Also, he's wearing pants aaaa why does the demon have jeans 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Still a better love story than Twilight. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Clonehunter Posted December 13, 2015 The more I see of this, the more I really want to see more. It's look like they went further than just some test shots, if they have what appears to be at least a four person cast and four different looking costumes for each (Baron, corpse, Doomguy?, Doomgirl). I smell new Avatars edit: I dunno. It appears the monster has a hostage 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Quasar Posted December 13, 2015 The fact this was in front of a green screen lends credence to the Usenet post from 1995 describing that some form of video was on display at that year's 3DO conference. This contradicts Heineman's earlier statement that there was *never* any video work done. That had to have been mistaken. I'd suggest this was probably a single sequence done for the conference to help do the "attracting of investors" for the additional planned stuff that would actually go into the game, and was obviously unsuccessful. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
