just the official logo of my doom sourceport. i still have to create a lore for it. ;-)

LoL. I always thought that it was some communist thing with some weapons replacing a hammer and sickle.

The story of my pic is that I actually got into DOOM because of this one episode of Family Guy. I never would have played it without it. Pretty funny, IMO.

I already mentioned this story somewhere else about 2 weeks ago. But I'll try and give a shorter version of it here (edit: or not).

Awhile back I made a map and asked my brother to test it, who was somewhat drunk at the time. What he didn't know was that I had made a custom Revenant and place it at the end of the map. The map itself was just some square rooms tied together with zombies in them. Zero effort. Not so bad you might think, until you realise this creature was created for maximum frustration.

I gave it a ridiculous amount of health, high speed, teleportation and the ability to kill you in 1 slap. I also increased its scale and disabled its ranged attack so it would chase and try to enter melee.

All was going well as he threw insults such as "this map is complete bollocks" and "this is about as hard as a wet fairy" et-cetera. Naturally this was the intended effect, then he reached the last room. I figured he'd catch on fast that I was having a laugh, but I forgot how stubborn he is (that and he was intoxicated). He kept trying in vain and he kept dying again, he simply would not relent.

It was hilarious watching his expression as he tried to evade the inevitable slap of death. I kept encouraging him with comments like "you nearly killed it that time" and "there's a trick to it" because I know he hates spoilers. Long story short he eventually figured it out after 20 deaths or so, if he had been sober he would have known after the first death or two.

I should probably mention we're both a lot older than you would expect from something like this. I'm in my 30's and he's in his 40's, but the sibling rivalry is still strong (don't pity him, he torments me endlessly). You have to get your entertainment somewhere right?

Anyway, I'm rambling again. The chittering Revenant was named Final Verdict. The avatar pic was an attempt to fit the name.

I just love Sheogorath, he's probably the best daedric prince imo along with Hermaeus Mora and Hircine.

He's pretty good, he's the calm after the storm, in all the ES games, there's death, a bad event happening, and Sheogorath is a fun way of forgetting about it and going into something like "Cheese Quest V" or some weird stuff like that.

Also [Shivering Isles spoilers] he's the Hero of Kvatch, so in Skyrim you meet your Oblivion character, so it's the first time two main characters meet in one game

A nameless character of Knight class(Fighter's advanced class) from Korea game comapny Nexon's MMORPG : Asgard(Full name--Dark Ages VI: Asgard, Dark Ages was other MMORPG by Nexon too, the International version of the game still exist now as I know. Asgard was be set as Dark Ages' sequel, aka the 6th chapter.) Most oversea people won't know about this game as never go outside from Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China.

The design was very old(from early 2000s) and more realistic, they later changed design to more "cute-ish" style because the dev. team was disband about mid-2000s or something(I forgot). Years later Nexon regrouped the team and changed a lot of things, but other (locale) versions were shut down long ago even re-opened by different importer but due to quality and management problems then shut down again.

Only original Korea version of game still exist today.

Reference wallpaper found from the old game site via Wayback Machine, I forgot where the source picture I have for my avatar, maybe from some Taiwanese site or the old official site of Taiwan version that already gone.(2,304.05 KB BMP file)

I also use my avatar for my other social media profile picture and my Steam profile but since I'm lazy so maybe not all my social media/forum profile will use.

It's a relief carving I saw near a spring while walking late at night at Eureka Springs, AK around ten years ago. It looked so out of place but I thought it was rad and snapped a photo with my flip phone. The original has an orange hue from the street lamps, but I made it pale green because it reminds me of the gargoyle faces in Doom. I commissioned a photographer to take high quality photos of them earlier this year and they're great, but there's something about the low res of the original that I find special.

If you uploaded your own avatar, what is it and why did you choose it?

Mine is the baby off of the cover of the black sabbath album "Born Again". I found the original baby picture used for the album and edited it myself to be similar to the album cover. So really I just redid the same editing to give it a high definition look.

It all started from a l33t marine, then i colourised it white.

I periodically change them, however, this time around I think I've settled for Alucard in loli form for a long time. Hellsing is just one of my favorite anime, and the first to interest me enough to actually read the manga, which, well, was nice for sure but didn't add pretty much anything after I watched the 1:1 adaption of it.

Plus he fits me in many ways, fits my violent, dark and twisted nature quite well, the only other character to come close to that would be Caleb from Blood. Sounds like edgelording, and you'd be right to an extent, but that's a massive oversimplification and outright dumbing it down.

I'm almost feeling like changing my profile again, but maybe I won't.

It is the character known as Pickle Inspector(or PI) from the web series Problem Sleuth. Something about him, despite none of the characters almost ever talking, stands out to me as something that I align with.

Previous profile pictures here on doomworld (before that weird iron lich sprite edit lol) have been a variety of characters from the Puyo Puyo series of puzzle games, and I almost felt like changing back to one until I decided that I wanted to post in this thread.

Much like the source of my picture, there's not really a story to it. I just saw the original scene, thought it was cute, and then replaced the bag she was holding with a soulsphere in photoshop. For the background, I was (and still am...) playing sunlust at the time, and figured that putting a screenshot of it seemed fitting :P

Wolf3d was one of my first games along with Dyna Blaster, Dangerous Dave, Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion. This texture of the elevator stuck in my head because I was so happy when I saw it which meant I finished a floor. Around 2017, I suddenly remembered Wolf3d and wanted to return to castle Wolfenstein (hehe). And I got interested in the history of first person shooters. Multiple articles wrote about some game named Doom as the first true fps. I was like "TF is Doom?". Then I watched a playthrough of it and I was hooked. Now I'm thankful that Wolf3d introduced me to Doom.

Diablo 2 is one of my favorite games ever, the whole saga as a whole, I've always love it. Even Diablo 3, that was a huge mess during launch, its now a very fun and frenzy game, but Diablo 2 its on a league of its own, kinda like Doom, its one of ''those'' games that left a huge legacy. I'm a also a big early Blizzard fan, fuck modern Blizzard tho.

I nicked a sticker from the Steam points store and put it through a gruesome mutilation provess in order to make it fit under the filesize limit.

Don't change it. It stands out, perhaps due to the lack of colour. Even though I have never met you it just seems to fit for some reason.

Same here. I loved Diablo 1 & 2, I wasn't so crazy on 3 though. It lost some of the grim-dark/gothic atmosphere for me. I still enjoyed it though, I just didn't sink as many hours into it as I did with D2 (battlenet days and hunting for Tal runes).
