I finally used an image of the character my username is based on but it still seems to be a little too small due to the avatar size limit.

Mine is now the proper size again. 36x36 (which was the size limit way back when I first made this) looks a lot better, although that expanded version wasn't all that bad. It still didn't look natural. And it's been so long since I did anything with the avatar, I forgot that there were 32 frames that I had to convert over to 90x90.

Before the avatar updates, I thought it was just a smokey red square. Never saw the face before.

You should see it on the top right where the profile options are. It's so small, like a thumbnail of a thumbnail.

I had to make slight modifications to nidorina's left foot and left ear to make it fit within the canvas to allow the upscaling to fit within the restrictions.

I needed a new one and still need to familiarize myself with Gimp (with photoshop theme) since I have been using PhotoImpact for many years. The story behind my username however is  bit more interesting. I've had it since 2000. I needed a player name back in the day, when I was at a lan party, playing the counter strike mod and before that I was hooked on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. The secret character you could unlock was this guy : 

 

Since the word Dick is a bit inappropriate I shortened it (pun not intended) and have been using it ever since. :D

Heyyy, I remember playing as him on Pro Skater 3. I always had a good laugh at his special trick, the lazy ass manual when I was little. That was when I was 8 though, or somewhere around that age.

I had commissioned a Jaws In Space badge about a year ago from artist OhYouMLW that I wear to conventions & other geeky events. I just edited in a starry sky for my Doomworld avatar.

Actually, I did not have 42 HP when I took the screenie from which this avatar is clipped, but you can't tell from the picture.

Suddenly, the mask cracks on the back, and then breaks. Finally, it zips around and gets sucked up in his mouth, followed by a deafening roar of a sucking sound, which suddenly stops...

Mine is a detail from the 2003 album Train of Thought by progressive metal heros Dream Theater.

 

I always just rather liked the image! No real meaning behind it, other than I like the album and it seemed a funky choice for an avatar. I've used it on every forum I'm registered on for about 10 years now.
