Did Marty Stratton avoid mentioning the beta on purpose?

Did anyone else wonder why there was no mention of the Beta during DOOM showcase? It almost felt like Marty Stratton forgot or purposely avoided talking about it. At least could've mentioned that more about beta in Quakecon.

They probably didn't have anything to be proud of saying about it. It will surely come as a topic in an interview when it happens/happened.

We will probably, or at least I hope, hear more about the beta next month at Quakecon. They've gotta leave some surprises for us at Qcon too! Would be really cool to see beta launch in the BYOC there or at least a hands-on demo in the exhibit hall. Probably hoping for a little to much but we'll see.
