The New Cacodemon

New caco looks amazing. Probably couldn't have thought of a better looking re imagination myself. Completely loyal to the original, I only wish it were more red in color. But hey, that's a minor complaint.

they do seem a little toddlerish. Perhaps a Big Mama cacodemon comes up from behind as a surprise at some point. That'd be a cool boss :D

He's looking pretty hungover. I like how he has that one major arm making him asymmetrical. A lot creepier than the Doom 3 guy

They might be able to recolor the model and use him in different environments like the Chaos Serpents in Hexen. That way there could be a brown and a red cacodemon at least. Maybe just change the attack behavior a bit or movement pattern to distinguish they are different adaptations to different demonic/earth environements

Monster are good but cyberdemon is to big he should be 30% bigger than Baron of hell not like now 300% its should not be doom3 scaling.

I'm currently at work. I accepted a sixteen hour shift to cover one of the night guards here. I came in at ten, and then at six I start my shift which will go till two AM (I'm central time, 0234 right now, so I've got about eleven and a half more hours).

Then I found out that I am actually the stand in supervisor tomorrow. The actual one called off sick last minute. So it's just me, a new guy who doesn't know his ass from his elbow, and some guy off another job site that's apparently a lazy asshole.

My shift is going to be fun.

So I know where you're coming from about needing sleep.

Also, I'd like to point out that the original design was most likely inspired by Madballs; in addition to other stuff, like the monster from DnD. Well at least in it's shape. A cacodemon Madball would have been awesome.

I like it. The expression on his eye makes him look smart, like he knows me better than the other demons. I always felt that way about the Caco though, so it could be bias.

Nah. I don't think they would reveal the Pain Elemental before the Cacodemon, since the Caco is more iconic/popular. They probably have an even more gruesome design in store for the Pain Elemental

I can see where you're coming from, but I'm pretty sure that's a Cacodemon. Those vestigial arms are a throwback to those little tentacles on the underside of the original Cacodemon.

Trouble with that logic is that the Doom 64 Cacodemon had arms too and it would make much more sense for these new designs to try and borrow elements of both PC Doom and Doom 64 designs.

Besides, everything else about the new Cacodemon screams Classic PC Doom Cacodemon that unless the designer really wanted to screw with us and go: "Fooled ya'll, lulz," it isn't really likely they'd go out of their way to make it so reminiscent of the Cacodemon of old, just to make it a Pain Elemental.

But since we're talking about the Pain Elemental, If there's one in the new Doom, I'm hoping it'll take more after the Doom 64 version just to make it look significantly different.
