Those 30 seconds getting to the shotgun where intense! :D NuDoom's pistol ...is not what I was expecting. Its like they took Doom 3's pistol and mated it with a Cylon. Its just goofy looking. Hopefully the firing animations are good. Considering Nightmare mode wasn't even in the original release at first if I remember right, I doubt it was intended for Nightmare. Just a filler weapon to defend yourself with besides your fists once you start the game, and then the Chaingun is a straight-up upgrade. My guess is that it'll probably be a better version of Doom 3's pistol; good for accuracy if you can nail headshots, worthless otherwise. But who knows, maybe weapon upgrades will turn it into a powerhouse in its own right? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I am too young to remember, but I swear the first time I played Doom, it had Nightmare, then again that would have been in like 2000, so I'm a bit late to the party. Now I'm curious, was this the case? I can't find anything online about the original Doom not having that difficulty level. As for the pistol, I agree with the comments regarding the upgrades and alt-fires.
