Here is my final version. It has 3 colors and 3 variants for each one. Also you can see here the ATST finished i posted some pages before

That's barons.

On the cover.

Granted, different from the in-game counterparts, but still them all right. Same facial features, no spikes, all that jazz.

Cemented on the Ult. Doom manual even more.

I think Don Ivan Punchatz was probably just illustrating some generic demons, maybe partially inspired by some early Doom concept art, or maybe a vague description of "demons, but in space."

 

They don't really match anything in the final game, but sorta look like a weird combination of the Imp, the Baron, and the Cyberdemon.  

 

I just called it an Imp because that's what Total used as the base for his version.

Same facial features (2). Even more obvious on the Ult. Doom manual (2). The only part from Cybie are cybernetic hands. On some of them. Nothing from imp. Not even hands.

The concept itself, of course, is quite good. I like the moving jaw part in first walking animation.

They do look nice. The head seems a little big for the body, though.

I think it looks fine on the front angle. I'd argue the issue is actually the neck being too long. It'd probably look a little less silly if the head was a little bit "pushed in"

Anyone interested in redesigning the following monsters from the Monster Resource Wad project? Basically the ones that never got redesigned to match the later Realm667 aesthetics.

Its basically the following monsters:

Spread Fire Zombie

Fast Imp

Maelstrom

Fire Wyvern

Shotgun Soldier

BFG Zombie (unrelated to the BFG Commando)

Rifle Zombie

Just wanted to see if anyone was interested in redesigning the sprites of these monsters.

Thanks! Looks like I picked a good time to pick this up; that sculpture looks awesome.  Maybe we'll get some nice 360 pics of it and we can recreate the sprites the old fashioned way!

 

I kinda agree the heads are a bit big.  They looked okay on the original front-facing sprite, but the rotations I've done have a bit of a bobblehead look to them.  And believe it or not, these are actually a little smaller than my first attempt!  Might have to shrink them by another pixel or two.

Dunno tho, for me it looks alright. The Demon AKA Pinkie also have oversized head. It's dem demons, they like it big and imposing. XD
