Doomkid Posted July 3, 2015 Hey people, I am really keen to make a Wolf3D themed Doom map and I was wondering if there were any resource packs out there containing the sprites and textures? I've been trying to cut bits and pieces from different WADs that have Wolf stuff in them but the result is looking too much like Frankenstien's monster - I just want clean, unedited Wolf3D sprites and textures. Anyone have a solution? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Superluigieth1 Posted July 3, 2015 1. Download Wolf3D and Spear of Destiny Demos (Here: Wolf3D SoD) Or abandonware (Google is your friend on this one!) 2. Get ChaosEdit (here) 3. Open ChaosEdit 4. Extract Wolf3D textures (under Textures, then click the painting to floppy) 5. Open up Slade3 6. Put the textures there (Note: It's Bitmap! so convert it in Slade3!) 7. Add the textures to PNAMES and TEXTURE1 lumps! 8. Open in GZDB (Or DB2) 9. Open file in .wad 10. Voila! Hope this helps. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted July 3, 2015 Find and download "Wolf3D_Resources.pk3". It already contains (presumably) all Wolf3D stuff. Graphics are in PNG format. Copying them into your wad and converting to Doom palette should be trivial in SLADE3. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jon Posted July 3, 2015 To be truly authentic you'll also need to do aspect ratio correction. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Do you want cyan (Real color) or green? (Doom palette) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted July 3, 2015 Just rip them out of King REoL's old Wolfendoom PWADs :-) REoL TOUGH stuff.... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

This is available in the Wolfenstein 3D TC for ZDoom on my web site at http://www.afadoomer.com/wolf3d/downloads.html. This includes everything from Wolf3D, SoD, and the Lost Episodes. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted July 6, 2015 Thanks all for your replies - Very helpful. It's nice having both a pack in Doom and knowing I can also rip them straight from the game too. Much appreciated! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Open up Slade3 Just for reference, SLADE 3 can open the Wolf archives directly, so you don't need ChaosEdit to rip textures, sprites, sounds, and music from Wolfenstein 3D/Spear of Destiny. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

ETTiNGRiNDER Posted July 6, 2015 I think he's talking about the scale between Wolf3D and Doom being out of whack, rather than pixel size. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
printz Posted July 7, 2015 Yeah. Keep in mind the player view height is 32 in Wolf3D and 41 (or 40) in Doom. You might want to make the Wolfenstein sprites 40/32 taller or bigger 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
