What do you think about "strife"?

Hi,
just got a copy of "Strife" on ebay. You know, based on the Doom-engine (altered a little) and fit out with some role-playing features.
Found, that there are no add-on levels on ftp.cdrom. Why?
Does it suck? The textures and sprites are looking nice (please do not hate me for saying that.)
The game is hard to get, maybe not many copys where sold.

What do you think?

yes strife is a very fine game, unfortunatly no map editors were released (i THINK)

You can edit Strife with Deep (I know that much) and DETH too I think. However, there was some weird reason why no one every made a Strife map... something about having to make a new IWAD or something. I forget.

Deth v4.24 supports Strife, as written on Doomworld´s Util-section. Have not tried it.
And there is Wintex and NWT Pro, which does not seem to work on my system. I use NWT 1.3.

You're darn right DeeP and DeePsea edits Strife. I've never played it before, though. I saw it in a discount bin at Radio Shack once, and decided not to get it. Foolish me...

I've got strife and it is a good game I say.
Although combat was a little slow paced, the rpg elements made up for it.

Want to get a feel for what Strife is like?
Then try my Partial Conversion to Doom2:
