Doom 2 extra levels?

I just remember there was this guy some years ago saying that doom 2 had more secret levels after map32, up to ~64? Yeah I know doom2 simply does not have 'em, but maybe it was some weird version of doom 2? Or just a weird guy.

Although there are only 32 levels in Doom 2, the game was made with room for up to 35 levels. This means that you can make a wad file and save it as Map 33, Map 34, Map 35, and play through it. You have to IDCLEV to get to those maps, however.

I never found an upper map limit, I was able to warp up to map666 and beyond with my tests. The mapnames on the automap become weird though :)
