Guest Pikoro Posted July 24, 2000 I really agree with you Chief... someone could be make shut up this guy... ZDOOM and JDOOM in my opinion, are the best source ports that exist to play DOOM... the mouse look is great, and I think that is one of the best features that was add in the doom engine... Long live to DOOM (ZDOOM, JDOOM, DOOM LEGACY and EDGE!!!)!!! Pikoro D. (sorry for the bad english, I speak spanish) 0 Share this post Link to post

These TCs are made to make an old outdated (its hard to admit) game fun to play and give the game a 'new' and 'fresh' look. Also, quake isn't the only game with room-over-room and deep water. UT, Half-life, Duke nukem, etc... 0 Share this post Link to post
locust Posted July 24, 2000 "theres also the quakers who want to shape doom into a new game" - i would suspect they're actually playing quake. "and come on.. doom mp3s? .. whos gonna drive to work in the morning listening to wannabee nine inch nails.. " - doom's music was composed in 92/93, which is pre-The Downward Spiral, and I really don't spot that much on Pretty Hate Machine or Broken that's too Doomy.. mebbe Something I Can Never Hve from PHM, and Last/Help Me I Am In Hell from Broken... I'd hardly say you can call Doom's music NIN derived. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Bobbert005 Posted July 24, 2000 mechasam, would you kindly STOP tring to split the Doom community in half? We have enough problems as it is without you making trouble. 0 Share this post Link to post

stphrz Posted July 24, 2000 I think it's good to have debates like this from time to time. If only we could keep the personal barbs out of it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Guest Nails Posted July 27, 2000 Have any of you ever visited an emulation or roms page? Many of them have games on them for the original Nintendo, old Commodore computer games, and even Atari for God's sake. And people download these games and play them, despite there being Playstations and Dreamcasts around. Now Mechasam, if people still play these ancient classics even with the new technology, what makes you so sure that people are just going to stop playing Doom on one magical day? It's never going to happen. There will ALWAYS be some group of people that play the original Doom no matter how technology advances. 0 Share this post Link to post
