I'd just like to say a few things that might clear up some misunderstandings about Doomworld and possibly alleviate some of the hatred certain people have shown.

Obviously I'm not a member of the site, but I _am_ doing a degree in journalism, and so I impart the following information.

For an event to be considered newsworthy, it always needs to be:

1) relavent
2) accurate
3) interesting
4) on time


There are other factors that affect whether news is worth showing:

a) importance
b) scale of effect (i.e. how many people it will effect)
c) educational value
d) "gossip" value


This is just a basic outline. I spent around four months (two hours a week) learning about this type of thing :)
