Jeremy Posted November 12, 2000 The poor, poor Arch-Vile, always left out, never ported to any console...Why? Becuase id only picked the deamons they like to be ported to console! So mr.Vile IS NOT going to be in DooM3. But look at DooM64, all those monsters that are not in it, probably wont be in DooM3 either. But as I speak about DooM64, I want to bring up certain areas of scarieness. DooM64 has to be the damn downrite most scary game I have EVER played. So dark, lonely, trapped on this base by yourself. The music brings all of this too life. The first time you play, the scary musci humming in the background, your heart nearly throbbing out of your chest from satisfaction. You jump down and grab the shotgun, the from nowhere, a deamons pops around the corner! Your run, you start screaming, and when you kill it, you luagh, and feel scared, heart pumping two times faster from fear, excitement, and nostolagia. Not only is this game scary, but it is believable. In the first couple levels, take a look at the sky. Look how realistic it is! The star, big small, spread, scattered, clustered. But the thing that impressed me most about the sky, is you can see one of the milkyways arms in the background beyond our arms stars. {An arm is a section of billions of stars and planets, and "black-matter" that branch off the milky-way.} Which that gives you an eerie feeling of really being there, thinking, "I wonder which star out there these things came from? Or maybe there from another arm, or maybe even another galaxy?? This is what DooM3 needs! For poeple who dont know jack about how brilliantly HUGE space is...The universe. So vast in space that just to find our solar system we must make five leaps in scale. Only one Sliver of our universe {1%} is viewable by even the strongest tellescope. Yet, even the smallest dots not stars, nor galaxies...but clusters of galaxies. We are just a mere microscopic spec in space. We lie as a small group in one galaxy, out of an estimated 900billion, at least, galaxies. And some people have the nerve to say we are alone! Anywhere out there, some where, ever maybe 200,000,000,000,065 light years away, something VERY similar to DooM could be happening. For all we knowm there could be a planet make of flesh, or covered by flesh somewhere out there. We live in just ONE solar system, trapped in ONE arm of ONE galaxy out of OVER 900,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!!!!!!!!! WERE TRAPPED!!! I want to live, I want to travel, and see what lies in the regions of all those millions of billions of galaxies! I want to be alone, bymyself, just in space, in my little craft forever. I want to see what everything is!!! What other life awaits me! 0 Share this post Link to post
X-DOOM Posted November 12, 2000 Hi ! Jeremy I have Doom64 too and the first time i play him, i seem be scared, i play it so long, i die manytime but i never let down the Doom instinct, i play the last difficulty skill and i pass the games, HUGE CYBERDEMON & MANCUBUS, A CACODEOM with 2 arms, a PAIN ELEMENTAL with 2 MOUTH, NIGHTMARE IMP & IMP, POWERFUL WEAPONS like the FLASH DEMON GUN, but where is the SPIDERMASTERMIND & THE ARCH-VILE & the MACHINGUNNER ? I hope DOOM3 will be better than DOOM64, because DOOM64 is the best DOOM game i play. MAKE A SEQUELS of! 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Duke Nukem Posted November 12, 2000 I kinda beg to differ. The arch-Vile (kinda) was in D64. The last boss seemed like a more advanced version. And DooM64 the best doom ever?! In my opinion it was a disgrace. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest doomgod12345 Posted November 12, 2000 i liked doom64, but i think it would be better to use some new monsters, as well as many old ones. oh and no use of spirits for the monsters. also i want to see scripted things like in half-life but no puzzle solving, the reason i hate the tombraider games. 0 Share this post Link to post

In my opinion it was a disgrace. DooM 64 was a half-assed idea...as in "lets make the guns and enemies cooler , but lets take away a couple of monsters and the animations for the guns"...I could go on about DooM 64's good and bad points but DooM 64 is worth playing and maybe even buying if you look past its bad points but after you beat it then what?? the replay value is a -500 out of 10 so after you beat it you stock it up and go play cpu doom which has way more levels , way more enemies , and a couple of good shotgun animations!! 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted November 13, 2000 Forgive me if I'm wrong, but ID didn't make any of the console versions of Doom (I know for a fact that they had hardly anything to do with Doom 64), so they weren't responsible for choosing what enemies would go in them. Plus I think a few of the consoles only have an equivalent to Doom 1 rather than Doom 2. 0 Share this post Link to post
Perforator Posted November 13, 2000 Heres what Nintendo.com says. Developer: Williams and ID Software Publisher: Midway Id say Midway had to do with most of the game, iD probley added addtional help for major problems. But this happend in 95, I think iD was just then starting on quake. But quake only took 9 months to make, and it came out in like october 1996, so they were probley working on different stuff at the time. Midway probley had the most say so because the own the rights to the game (correct me if Im wrong, gt might still own the rights.) 0 Share this post Link to post

Damn scary. The rest.... Uh, Doom-Lite, I'd say 0 Share this post Link to post
