When I play JDoom. I felt the objects in it were quite different from other ports. It seems it was a true 3D port. Like play in Quake. The graphics were also excellent. And the dynamic light was absolutely great! Unfortunately, I can just play it when I use D3D renderer. But use OpenGL/3DFX renderer has a texture disappearance problem. Can't see all the textures include monsters. Just the weapons texture still here. Can somebody help me?
My 3dfx card is Voodoo3 3000, and CPU is AMD-K7 700Mhz.

True 3D means that you can have platforms above and below one another. You can't do this in JDoom.

True 3D means rendered in 3D as opposed to dooms pseudo-3D rendering. JDoom uses OpenGL for rendering so is "true 3d"

Yes, JDoom has 6 degrees of freedom as opposed to the original Doom's 5.

That's why looking all the way up or down in the original Doom would have caused the engine to render floors and walls on the same axis.
