hi, how do u run the deh patch to work with doom 2. i have tried the following -file david.deh, doom boots up, put everything i editd does not change?? help

It ain't gonna work like that on normal doom2.exe, you have to use dehacked to patch the executable with the .deh file. Most source ports nowadays let you use -file whatever.deh though.

hey, to run deh patches with dehacked for NORMAL, doom 2 (the origional exe) you have to have dehacked write the patch to the exe file. Push W to write all your changes to doom2.exe (or doomhack, whatever your hacked executible is called) and press R to run the program, playing the changes you've made.

Your command is wrong. Use zdoom -deh david.deh

The -file argument is for .wad files.

Like the others said, you can't directly use doom2.exe.
