Wildman Posted March 4, 2001 I cut this from the MacGamer.com site: The demonstration highlighted the new effects enabled by NVIDIA's latest graphics chip, the GeForce3, which was officially unveiled during the show. It's expected to ship in March as a $350 build-to-order option and in April as a $600 stand-alone product. Notice it says that the stand-alone porduct is going to be 600.00 (US I assume). Since the Doom game is being written against this platform, I hope the price drops before the game ships. I am already prepared to upgrade my video card, but I won't at this price. No game is worth that. 0 Share this post Link to post
Arioch Posted March 4, 2001 That won't happen unless there's competition. The GF2s are only now dropping to semi-reasonable price levels. :/ The only good news is that one OEM for the GF3 will be pricing at $500, which suggests the price war for the GF3 might start sooner than it would otherwise do, but even that number is way way overpriced IMHO. 0 Share this post Link to post
Julian Posted March 4, 2001 Well, let us hope Doom won't be the only game for this card ;) Nice to see you Rick :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted March 4, 2001 Rick: I am sure that by the time Doom3 hits shelves, these cards will be in bargain bins for $149 or lower. 0 Share this post Link to post
