Guest Crym01 Posted March 7, 2001 Some of you may already have read (i know it sounds a bit strange :)) this article on this page: http://www.geocities.com/matt_richter_99/ResearchPaper.html here is a quote of the text: _________________________________________________________________ First is cooperative mode, in which the players work together to defeat their adversaries and move on to higher levels. This mode provides a team combat experience interesting enough that the US Marine Corp used a modified version of Doom in cooperative mode to train some of its soldiers. _________________________________________________________________ I remember some years (i think it was in '95 ... hmm, perhaps '94 or '96 ... but I think '95) ago I saw this on TV (in the news of the Austrian TV). A Marine played this modified version. And I am sure, that he had a weapon, that is not available in the original Doom Version, and this was an Electro-Shocker. So now my question: Does anyone know where I can get this modified version? 0 Share this post Link to post

AFAIK they both work the same in the end. 0 Share this post Link to post

DeePsea Posted March 8, 2001 Doom was also used by the Australian Dept of Defence (as they spell it). Levels & graphics were created to familiarize personnel transfering to a new base. The US Navy used it in a similar fashion. There is one other, but fuzzy math is setting in. 0 Share this post Link to post
