which doom source is the best?

I just downloaded z doom and doom legacy,and they both rock,but out of all the doom ports,which is the best,im gonna download another one.

well i use both zdoom and legacyGL but there truly is no best port cause all have good and bad sides depends what u are looking for so i say get all the common ones to use i have edge, zdoom, legacy and at on time or antoher some other random port

I'm a huge fan of all the ports, Edge and Legacy are very high on my list. However, right now I I'm very partial to zDoom (with no small thanks to zDaemon either!).

I think zDoom is the port that is most native to Windows and I have much fewer errors with it than anything else.

BTW, anyone want to try some DM levels I just made? =) Email/ICQ.

Each port has it's highs.

Jdoom has the best gfx. The lens glare and colored lighting is awesome. Looks even better in Jhexen and Jheretic.

Zdoom, I personnaly like the best. More customizable. And you can actually look farther up and down than in other ports. Kinda makes everything other than zdoom awkward.

Legacy has split screen which is cool. But the most annoying port when it comes to looking around.

Prboom is awesome, but I believe Zdoom has surpassed it.

Edge... hmmm. Doesn't have as many options as the others, but it has true 3d! (or at least emulated).

Heh. If I made a level called Omni-Directional Clusterfuck I'd put a password on downloading it too :P At any rate, I couldn't get the level (do I look like a hacker to you?), but for the name alone I'll give it a 9/10 :)

I'd like to chime in here for a moment.....hehe....
I like Zdoom because it seems to have less errors, and the control is smoother than Legacy.
Legacy, like it, play it sometimes. Has a nice launcher for it, but because of my graphics card (running on a S3-ViRGE-DX still, eeeewwwww) it has limitations.
JDOOM, seen the pics for it, they looked great, if only I had a 3DFX card or something of that nature.. damn my budget!
I have Vavoom too, but I haven't seen anything different with it except the limitation on customizing DOOM settings like Zdoom offers. So it'll just sit there on my harddrive I guess, until I finally find a use for it.
Other those I mentioned I guess ZDOOM would be my choice of DOOM Port. I mean it's the only one I use the most for gameing online, and seems more stable. HOwever, my only complaint is that it doesn't fair so well with me when trying to load different PWADS up, and LEgacy is easier to use when it comes to that.Oh well though....
