Guest deathwarrior Posted March 13, 2001 do i really need to say more? ok, three things. 1. I'm doing it all by myself, with a little help from Ralphis with sprite offsets. I ripped all of the stuff from the original wads. 2. If you want to use any of the stuff in the resource wads (I'll be doing the Alpha 0.4, Alpha 0.5 and Press Release Beta wads), do the smart thing and ask me for permission first OR give me credit. Either way will make me happy. 3. They will be called doom0_4.wad, doom0_5.wad and doomprbt.wad. doom0_4.wad will have stuff from Doom 0.4, you can work out the rest hopefully :) 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted March 13, 2001 Sweet, at the moment all we have is the flats that SailorScout took out. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest c-d-w Posted March 13, 2001 You can easily rip all the data out of the wads with deutex. 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted March 13, 2001 Sweet, just last night I was wondering if this would ever be fully done. Sparky of Kiss software did some weapons and sprites with his "Alpha Guns" mod, MBF has some sprites in the PRB beta emulation mode (some carried in to SMMU if I remember) and , as NiGHTMARE says, SailorScout did a good job with the flats. "You can easily rip all the data out of the wads with deutex" I would dispute the word "easily". I managed to get a lot of the stuff out, but there was plenty that deutex said it couldn't handle, or brought out as corrupted files. The format for some of the data is not in the standard, "modern" wad file format. I believe Yadex is pretty good at working with the old versions, and I was even toying with installing Linux last night just to get Yadex working to find out. Looks like I won't have to now. Make sure you post the release nice and clearly please. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest deathwarrior Posted March 13, 2001 The only thing i'm having trouble with is the levels, cause they use a different system to the normal Doom & Doom 2. Yadex can read them easily, but I dont have Linux installed. 0 Share this post Link to post
