If you could put anything in doom.....

Yo,yo, if ya'll peeps could put anything into a doom source port... what would it be. For me it would be support for different palettes per sprite (like quake 2), and marines that when freed could be tossed a weapon from your inventory, and would fight enemies too (with limits, of course! I want to save most of the fun of slaughtering them bastards for myself). Let me know what ya'll would like to see in a source port, ya'll!

I think friendly troops might me interesting, but they have their own weapons and they fight on their own. I think they would get in the way most of the type, it might be easier just to chaingun your poor buddy in the back to get to the enemys...
the friendlys would have to stay in one place and guard or run around and do their own thing, not follow you or anything.

Then agian if we did that, it would be half-life...

I think types of levels should be made, levels that take place in cities and urban areas, that would rule.

If you add friendlys, I like than to be able to manipulate their actions. Like when you deal with hordes, I would want to ‘tell’ my buddy, you go around and shot them from this sniper spot, the other goes that way etc. But to program that, well esco said ‘if’ you could ...

i wouldn't add anything. doom is perfection, and don't f**k with perfection. all of the ports i use just add mouse control, looking up/down, hi-res, etc, not any gameplay changes though.

I was also talkin' bout features like the ones you mentioned. Can anyone think of somethin' neww to put into a source port? Maybe the ability to put hexen and heretic monsters into doom, or different character classes?
