My friends wont play Doom with me!

I wanna play doom!!
I have just got my own computer, its an Athlon 800mhz.
I can go to my friends lanpartys and play all the fun games (i thought).
But on every single lanparty me and my friends play games like Starcraft and Red alert (yuk).
Sometimes we play quake3 but then after 15 minutes somebody wants to play land warrior (that means i will have to copy it).
When i join landwarrior (after half an hour) they have already got tired of it and disconnected.
when i mention Quake and Doom they laugh me in my face and say:Thats an old game stupid!
I miss the old days when me and my brothers was playing Wolfenstein and Doom and Quake.
Are my friends stupid or what?

Yes, your friends are extremely stupid. Try this:

Hide ALL of your games except for Doom, and tell them not to bring anything over. Once you have had your fill of playing Doom, take out the other games so your friends don't skin you alive.

it's just stupidity. my friends don't wanna play either. all they wanna play is counter-strike. they don't find deathmatch fun! bastards.

aint got internet on my computer yet and this machine im writing on is a mac and they suck ass

Dude, my friends are the same way. Doom is my favorite game and they always laugh at me for it. Then they practically have to drag me to Wizards of the Coast so we can all play Counter-Strike. Then they beat me at that (I go out guns-a-blazing) and then laugh at me some more.

The only two guys I know who are actually into games are so freakin jaded.

One wont touch anything that he's beaten at some point, unless it has big gaint mechs(not that mechs are bad, mind you, but geez).

The other thinks anything over three years old isn't worth his time, and is too chickenshit to install anything not programmed by a well-known developer, even if it's more stable and safe than windows(not saying much, I know).

So the jist of it is I never get to play anything on a LAN except StarCraft or Unreal Tournament, no mods either =(

They're nice games, but I really want to play some version of DOOM. >=o

Ha! I am so lucky.. i have 2 friends who like Doom. One thinks it's ok and the other one's even more doom freak than me... lucky me... well the rest... they laugh out very loud if they see me playing doom at a lan party (that means that almost 50-60 people would find out .. and laugh at me)
