where does doom 64 fit in exactly with all the other doom games, ive always wondered

Some say it is a remake of the original DOOM.
Personally, I think it's a sequel in my eyes and it is a damn good one.Although it could of been done better,but I still favour it.

Supposedly, after all the other doom games, you thought you killed off all the demons, but one escaped and managed to spawn a whole new group of the things. That's 'bout it.

I am not a fan of Doom 64. it's a good enough game, it's just a wasted oppertunity to combine the graphical power of the N64 with the superb gameplay and atmospheric feel of Doom.
the game is good enough, it just isn't what it could have been.
