Discovered a cool mod, want to share the fun

I was browsing Doomworld's almost-never-updated source ports section, (Mordeth, when are you going to upload the latest JDoom? You cost me 2 hours of headaches trying to get md2s working in a version that doesn't support them) when I came across an awesome modification!

It's called "Doom Wars", and it's the greatest. I know that lots of the 'oldies' here (remember the pre-1000 post days?) probably know about this mod, but I want to tell all the newbies about this. Doom as a first-person RTS! Wonderful! I've been playing it online with a friend every day for the past week!

Anyway, I'm addicted to it. I hope that my post inspires others to check it out!

Yeah, i saw that in october last year, I was quite pissed when I found that yoghurt quit working on all his projects, including doom wars, somwone should revive it.

Latest JDoom version: 0.82. Latest Doomsday beta: DTtest2 Dec29th. Both mirrored since they came out. So I have to assume you're retarded or something :)

yes i played that. its like a rts for doom, althou if thay put more of a qwar2(quake2 mod) rules in it it whould be a lot better rts. i mean come on how are you going to command guys when your tring to run from the baddies

Mordeth, YOU'RE the retarded one. The latest JDoom is 0.83. Check http://www.newdoom.com/stimpee/download.shtml if you don't believe me. I dare you to get md2s working in the version uploaded on Doomworld.

According to the official site v0.82 is still the latest JDoom version. The JDoom messageboard also doesn't mention a later beta. You (and that jaydee guy) are probably referring to the Doomsday beta, which does contain the very latest version.

I stopped running beta versions of source ports ever since DosDoom killed my previous OS.
