game movies...

there have been all of these movies based off of video games (Tomb Raider, Mortal Combat, Final Fantasy, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, Duke Nukem (planned), etc.) Where's the Doom movie? Doom has probably had more success than all those games, where is it? It'll probably do good in theaters, any1 agree?

Tomb Raider: Ancient artifact that can manipulate time. Your competitor is also after it, beat him to it in the name of good.

Mortal Combat: Every millenium the fate of the planes is decided in Mortal Combat. This is the story of the people who defend earth this time around.

Final Fantasy: Every game has a different story and so will the movie. Since the games are pretty much overflowing with story (except for 8) we can assume the movie will too.

Wing Commander: Intergalactic war, blah blah blah, top secret weapons aiming device, blah blah blah, aliens stole it, blah blah blah, revenge blah blah blah.

Double Dragon: Your woman has been kidnapped by a gang leader. Kick his ass! Well, I dunno how in the hell they made a movie out of this, they shouldn't've even tried.

Street Fighter: A fighting tournament called 'Street Fighter' is going on and everyone has their own motives to kick everyone's ass. The movie is pretty much Chun Li's story with Guile doing the ass kicking. Also sucked to an unbelieveable extent.

Duke Nukem: The king of alien ass kickery. This time the invaders want our chicks to use their reproductive systems to breed biological weapons. Well, fuck that. What would the subtitle be, "Martian's stole my pussy?"

Doom: Demons are coming through teleporters on the moons of Mars. Kill them all.

You see? None of these games are really geared towards making a decent movie. Since the games have made millions, though, movie execs feel the retarded urge to make more millions by making a movie (basically by shoving as much horse shit onto film as it will hold).

I hope there WON'T be a Doom movie, 'cuz even if it's twice as good as Street Fighter it will be so UNBEARABLY horrible it will scar the name of the game forever.
