is there an easy way to put a whole bunch of levels together into 1 wad? I'm new to editing doom wads, and would like to combine all of the master levels into one wad.

The easiest way to put various levels into one big WAD file:

First, get NWT from the 'utilities' section. Put your levels in the same directory (eg. doom2), and make sure levels are numbered right (eg. you have a map01, a map02 etc) and not all map01's). If they are not numbered right, open up your level editor to change it. Run NWT, press ALT-L and select the first level (arrows to highlight, press ENTER to open). Select all entries (highlight entry, press spacebar to mark, go to next entry etc) and export to your main WAD-to-be (with all entries marked, press F4, enter name of your WAD-to-be (eg. MYWAD.WAD) and press ENTER). Repeat for all levels. That's it, really.

It's even easier if you just get WinTex. Select in the top window each individual level you want in the big wad. In the bottom window, every time you merge, select the master wad. Then just click the button "Join two PWADS." Do that for every wad.

The new Import feature in DeePsea will do all that Wintex/NWT does and more. Press F7 and then select Import. To fix the level names, select the Rename.. from the dialog box and just type in a new level name and save. Now select a target file (you create a new one by just entering a name that does not exist) and then add each PWAD you want to combine.

You can add ANYTHING in the Import - ANY file is legitimate - DeePsea assumes the user knows if the file format is recognized by the engine you are using and does not place any restrictions on data types.

If you require format conversion, that is automatically done for BMP/PCX and MIDI/MUS files. There are tools to move/rename/delete data lumps around and to insert required control entries. You can also combine/edit the graphic control elements (if the levels used modified textures) and so on.

Yes - all this is fully functional in the shareware version of DeePsea:)

Well, then try to combine two ZDoom WADs with BEHAVIOR lump using WinTex...

Tarin, doesn't that work just fine if you try using wintex's hexen mode?
