Guest JackRiley Posted August 23, 2000 Ling mentioned "merging sectors" in DWBS today... Am I missing something? Isn't that when 2 sectors share a common linedef? Or when there is a sector in a sector? Perhaps I'm getting confused by the terminology. 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted August 23, 2000 Imagine you've got a room (sector 0) and there are two pedestals in the room. If both these pedestals have the same sector (sector 1) than that is an example of "merged sectors". BTW, I don't think Fanatic will appreciate you using his face. 0 Share this post Link to post

fen boi Posted August 24, 2000 If you have two or more (hopefully more) sectors with the same floor, ceiling heights and attributes such as tag number, damage etc you can 'merge' these sectors. This just gives them the same sector number. They don't have to be adjacent, they can be at opposite ends of the level or wherever. In DeepSea the 'Merge sectors' utility is under Misc (its number 8 in the list). I tried it on my new DM level, cut the number of sectors from 180+ to nearer 70 and the file size from 114kb to 85kb, pretty handy. 0 Share this post Link to post
