ViperBoy Posted October 1, 2000 can mod (or .s3m .it etc.) be used en Doom Legacy ? I was told that Zdoom can use mod files and that's true. Unfortunatley I just tried Zdoom and I think it sucks bigtime! ... 0 Share this post Link to post
bitstate Posted October 2, 2000 nope, i don't think legacy support .mod's , zdoom 1.22 support module music through midas and is therefor quite limited (the .it support is unusable as it lacks alot of stuff) the 1.23 beta however uses the fmod engine and therefor supports most module music aviable, so far i've only found one error in it's playback routine and as far as i've been told they are about to fix it :o) however, i've tried legacy and really can't understand why you'd think that zdoom suck, did you really try the latest 1.23 beta and did you turn all the features on? 0 Share this post Link to post

bitstate Posted October 3, 2000 its here http://www.notgod.com/phorum/read.php?f=7&i=6&t=6 . you probably allso want to update the fmod dll, this is simply achieved by going to http://www.fmod.org and in the download area get the latest package (not the mini-fmod though), then just unzip and overwrite the fmod.dll in the zdoom beta folder (the other files included in the .zip are not neede). its actually quite cool that bugfixes and updates to the sound engine can be done independently of zdoom itself :o) 0 Share this post Link to post
