My monitor is crap, and i dont have the money to replace it. It is slowing me down on my level work. I was wondering, is there anything that i can get to raise the brightness or change the gamma, my POS monitor is at its maximum brightnes..... and it is still very dark, help.

Eek. Your monitor is dead I'm afraid. If it's still too dark at max brightness, and you have Doom at max gamma I don't know what you can do except replace it. You could try turning off all the lights in the room so the only light comes from the monitor. You could also try cleaning it(the glass) so there is no dirt in your way.
