In Carmack's .plan he mentions Doom III will be single player based. Does that mean there will be no multiplayer support whatsoever, or does it mean their main focus will be single player, but they're adding DM support as well?

I think it means that it`s gonna have a well thought through singleplayer aspect, but also deathmatch and other multiplayer actions. You know, Quake II is a singleplayer orienteted game, but it still got a awesome multiplayer part. And Quake was multiplayer orienteted, as you probably can see, since the singhleplayer part isn`t very impressive. Just so called difficult enemies comming straight to you.

Multiplayer will undoubtedly be unsupported - and if, for some maniacal reason id were to not provide support, someone in the DOOM community soon would (if they weren't so appalled at the lack of multiplayer support- but since this isn't an issue, I'm wasting my carpel tunnel syndrome tollerance)
