Guest Intestinalworm Posted August 29, 2000 A bunch of these are stolen (no, borrowed) from other posts (just so you know) ZOMBIES-standard undead. I think they should be a bit more like The House of the Dead zombies now UAC colonist-most common zombie punches you UAC worker-basically a zombie with a chainsaw or industrial nailgun UAC waste removal specialist-a zombie that poisons with its touch or throws sludge at you. It also explodes like a barrel when killed UAC scientist-rare zombies that use experimental weapons like plasma rifles and BFG’s. They would need to be incredibly stupid even for zombies to make it fair. Marine-the old doom zombie Officer-the old shotgun toting zombie Heavy gunner-zombie with a chaingun Lieutenant-a smarter faster zombie can call in reinforcements. Fires a MP5 (or similar weapon, I’m not pushing realism here) and throws grenades Revenant-the same IMPS Imp-same Shadow imp-a partially invisible imp Insectine imp-a four armed poison gas ball throwing Imp Skull imp-an imp that carries a large scythe due to lack of fire gland, not to mention total lack of any flesh at all. These are probably the source of the rumors about troopers seeing Death around the trenches. Nightmare fiend-wall climbing, black, totally silent, chain lightning hurling imps. HIGH DEMONS Demon-same Specter-same Nightmare demon-smaller, thinner demon, runs and jumps like a fiend from Quake but instead of hitting with blades on a jump it causes a shockwave. If you think that’s silly play doom again at look at a demon long and hard, even a smaller thinner demon would make the earth shake if it landed hard. Hell hound-a fire spitting 3-headed dog Water demon-a demon that’s like cross between an electric eel and an octopus (an incredibly ugly octopus with the eels for tentacles) Demoness-powerful and beautiful female devils in skintight black leather Lost soul-same Gargoyle-a flying little menace that throws rocks at you and is very hard to kill Caco demon-same Pain elemental-same Plague elemental-sprays toxic shit all over the place Caco Priest-A member of the holy order of Satan. I have not yet figured out what its powers are. Resuscitator-a little goblinoid thing with two big spiked hooks on its shoulders used to embalm and revive dead human bodies into undead soldiers Soul eater-a sort of vampire that eats your soul to gain health, thus the more it hurts you the healthier it is Illusionist-a creature that can make duplicates of itself to confuse you Flesh Illusionist-similar to the above only the clones are real and can hurt you Dracolich-a powerful undead dragon BOSSES Hell knight-a big winged demon with a HUGE axe Dimensional gate keeper-can teleport behind you if attacked unless hindered by an attack sequence, thus you have to shoot him as he attacks you. After he is beaten the gates suck you into hell and close behind you. Cyber demon-same Aracnotron-similar to old one but needs to look way better and have a gun to take you out at long ranges too. The old one you could just keep your distance and you would hardly loose any health at all. Maybe it should climb up walls too. I don’t know how many people have seen Ghost in a Shell but that was a cool looking robotic spider. Replace its head with a demonic goat like head with lots of pointy teeth; give it more legs and spines all over. That’s what I envisioned when a friend told me that the last boss was a cybernetic demon spider. 0 Share this post Link to post
deadnail Posted August 30, 2000 Hmm... borrowed... yes, some of them are familiar. It's a nice list. Unfortunately, iD software has had nearly a year to work on Doom 3. The coders have been hard at work making the engine while the artists have already designed the cast and arsenal. That's no reason to dream, though. :) Have fun posting about what you'd like to see in Doom 3. I just hope that you don't really believe these things are going to make it into Doom 3. By the way, check your signature. It has a small spelling error. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tetzlaff Posted August 30, 2000 Sure, there is not a big chance that some of the good ideas arround here will make it through, because id´s artists will have maybe enough good ideas by themselves. But I don´t think everything for Doom III is fixed already. Remember Quake 3 Arena, they decided to leave out the flamethrower weapon at last (so I hope they saved it for Doom now). Another question is, how important are the many fans of the old Doom´s? Maybe id just want to make a great new game that is just losely linked to Doom, although I hope it will recreate at least the mood of the old games. 0 Share this post Link to post
