Shaviro Posted September 5, 2000 deadnail said:The most important thing to remember about RAM is to not waste time getting it in small doses. There's only so much that can fit on your motherboard (mine accepts 3), and once that's full you'll have to remove one to put in another. I've got to 64's and one 128. I'm at my limit but that's fine. For my gaming-only PC I'm going to put together in around a year I'm getting my RAM in chunks of 256. It costs much less in the long run this way, plus, then I could jack it up to 768 megs of RAM if I for some derrangedly perverse reason needed it. :) You're broke? Get a job! Heheh. I was pretty close to buying 512 Megs once! 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted September 5, 2000 deadnail said:Wait until you get to 256! Just let me warn you that, with Windows98, it really won't make much of a difference. 0 Share this post Link to post

Guest PainoMan Posted September 9, 2000 Race: Earthling Eyes: Hazel Hair: Falling out Body weight: 140 Age: 33 Nick Prounounciation: PainoMan. Paino man. Pain oh man. Computer: Old-ass proprietary AST P200 MMX with Soundblaster AWE32 and a VooDoo 3 3000. Never really had any problems with it, but now it's too slow for anything newer than Sin. I'm very slowly building a new machine, but it is already obsolete. Music: anything that is MUSIC. By definition, music is comprised of three elements: melody, harmony and rhythm. Rap only has rhythm and therefore does not qualify. The Grateful Dead on the other hand, DO qualify in all respects. Either you know or you don't. Tangerine Dream, Jean Michelle Jarre, Vangelis, many electronic artists on mp3.com (here's one for you to add to your Generic Hatred list deadnail: People who think the term 'ambient music' started with the crap out today; go find some Eno and understand.), Bach, Bartok and Holst. Irish folk, American Folk, Bluegrass, Indian Raga, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin... these are all fine examples of music. 0 Share this post Link to post

(you went in the mil and i still better than you) I will also kick anyone's ass that's a black-belt or equivalent. Key word is equivalent, I don't have a standard "style", mine is built out of common sense and practicied normally. It is of a defensive format. I also have an immense reaction time (~1/5 sec), this aides me. Actually DM is about the only place where I don't do well (im quite experienced at SP, but not DM). 0 Share this post Link to post
sirgalahadwizar Posted September 11, 2000 Shaviro said:Your comp is VERY nice. But Its nothing without more RAM! I have a: 300 MZH and 192 Megs of RAM. Its really fast. The speed doubled when i got it! Get 128 megs of RAM! AND FAST!!! I just have to get a whole 'nother computer. I'll keep the monitor, but the motherboard has to go because it doesn't have an AGP port, and all the ram slots are filled (and I got 64meg at that). Problem1: Not enough money Problem2: Not enough money Problem3: Same as above except that I already have a job and all the money is going out the door to pay for neccessities such as food and shelter (and maybe pornos). I wish it would be my turn to find a big bag of money just laying around... (no strings attached, no ID's inside, just sweet 10 grand laying on the street - that's money, not drugs) 0 Share this post Link to post
