Gore Off Options?

Do you guys think Doom 3 will give you the option of turning off the gore and blood? I think it might, because most games do these days, but no id game has ever had the option of turning off the gore. If you can't, then I will not be able to buy it (my parents are fuckin' stupid, I guess I would have to do it behind their back somehow. I am very skilled at that kind of thing).

PS: Do you know if these games have the option of turning off the blood and gore? Only answer if you are 120% sure, beyond the shadow of any sort of a concievable doubt!

The most irritating thing is that low-tempered players prefer action-filled games. That´s because they release anger that way. Quake & DooM never teached to kill. It´s a fact that high-tempered persons play more pacific games and viceversa. (really, Scientific American article)

Unreal Gold has that option. But there is no real gore, just some lame blood and the classical 5 faces chunk o´ meat.

You can even turn out blood & splatter in Quake 3 Arena, just type "/com_blood 0" into the console or put it in your configuration.

-Daikatana has a turn-off-the-gore function in the menue.
-Kiss Psycho Circus has it also to chose from the menue (at least the german version).

Rise Of The Triad (yeah, yeah, old game but...)

It had several levels of killing and gibbing.

In the lowest one you could shoot a guy with the bazooka and he would only fly back about 20 feet - not even a bloody corpse, just a guy who was knocked down!

In the highest (not /ekg mode) you shoot guys with the mp40 and every so once in awhile you see organs popping out of them. Shooting an enemy with a bazooka wouldn't leave a body, it would leave chunks everywhere and sometimes an eyeball would go across your screen (in great detail I might add).

There was even a password option to lock in the current choice (too bad it saved the password in an obvious file that could be edited).

come on, no one really releases anger through video games. Listening to loud music and driving too fast, maybe. But I don't think it's possible to release any anger by sitting down in front of a screen and pushing buttons. It's just to seditary.

Anger is a brain-related thing, the body is a tool to express it, and the hormons perform a boost in these operations. Gaming, hobbies and sport are used to release the daily stress, and that includes pressure, anger, worries, etc. You can do it by wasting energy with your body, or make the brain to engage some way to stop paying attention to the reality, a break.
It works. The average human needs at LEAST 1 hour 43 minutes daily to mantain sanity. I use a lot of the night to do that, but then im in the need for sleep.

And games like SoF include REALISM, not violence!!!
