A few questions for id worshippers

OK, here's Everything I Always Wanted To Know About id Software But Was Afraid To Ask :

1. How is "id" pronounced ? I know it refers to the third part of the human psyche (next to the ego and superego), though I've always imagined it is pronounced "eye-dee". Has anyone ever heard this pronounced by someone who should know (e.g. Carmack) ?

2. What is the relation between John and Adrian Carmack ? Common sense suggests they're brothers, though a few people have told me this is not the case.

3. Is Donna Jackson, the "id mom", actually related to one or more id Software members ?

4. Is it true John Carmack is in fact a super-intelligent cyborg planted on Earth by the Xenoids ?

5. Does any of this matter ?

1. iD´s pronounced "ee-d". Just like in spanish.

2. There´s no relation. They were introduced by Romero and Hall. They worked on SoftDisk, back then. They needed an artist for Commander Keen, Adrian was available. They left SoftDisk some days later.

3. It´s just because she´s the only woman in the group.

4. No, of course not, it was deviced by the Centaurii, and met his purpose at the Ska´Tet. Im sure the Overlord would be very proud of him...

1. Id is apparently pronounced "id", as in at the end of "squid".
It's only pronounced eye-dee when used to mean "identity"

2. They're not related, other than being members of the same species :)

3) This is just an affectionate nickname they gave her.

4) No, John Carmack is actually God's older brother, and is trying to outdo his Real Life engine (see a few posts down) in a fit of sibling rivalry.

5) Possibly. Maybe. No. Yes. Who knows?
