Why did he not say

Well, we all know that Doom3 was announced by id, but why
did John Carmack not say "Doom3"? I know it is Doom3, but it makes no sence. He says "The engine of a game in development", and the other line, "I don't think we'll be showing off too much becuase were so far from even having a "title" on the shelves."

Oh well, we all know its Doom3 any way. I just cant wait till id gets the UA-CORP site done. I've been checking out the WHOIS database, and it seems that they update the site everyday, I guess they want it to be COMPLETLEY up and ready for us when they release it.

Man, I never thought GFX would make an upgrade like that...movie quality. Wow.

it has not been called anything yet. "doom 3" is only a term we are using to describe the upcoming doom game. no-one knows what the actual game will be called yet.

What's up with the WHOIS database? What does it say? How do you check that anyway?

Doom 3 is a logical name for it, thats why WE call it that. id calls it "the new doom".
Although I heard in the slashdot forums that it will be called "DooMX"

Indeed, id seem to be hesitant to give their new baby a name. The majority of the community however has been referring to it as "Doom 3" from day one, so I think if we keep this up we'll eventually convince them of calling it that.

What we all saw there was not he presentation of any game..it was the presentation of a game-engine. And Johny boy also said this characters/models we saw will be in their upcoming game.
Why should he say that if it had been there upcoming game what we saw there? I can remember some "Official Quake 3 screens" which weren´t nothing as showing off what the eninge could do...
