In all seriousness though, foursite sounds great for cacoward, one of the more innovative levels I've seen recently... From dodging a long range mancubi bombardment while platforming, to riding a rather risky, and pit prone elevator full of lost souls, this map has so many neat concepts, it deserves recognition, even if not as a cacoward, it really seems like something worth remembering.

And now that dump 3 came out....I think the series deserves recognition for just getting so many people to try mapping. I know I made a map for it, for 3, but so many maps made in a year from 1 project is pretty astounding imo. plus, managing and making a nearly 80 map wad for dump 3 takes a lot of work.

EDIT: actually just tried trump doom and...holy crap, VERY strong contender for mockaward, good zdoom usage, comedy, and it made me value the doom pistol again. Pretty fun gameplay, lots of laughs, and generally a good time all around.

Hell on Earth Starter Pack (even in supposed-demo form it completely rocks visually, technically and in gameplay)

Hmm, DUMP was nominated just once then, BUT there were some "mehs" about it so I thought it wasn't a nomination eg "i think DUMP should be mentioned" not "I nominate DUMP for Cacoward!"

Best Gameplay wad is a tossup between Brutal Doom 64 and Doom 4 for Doom, i thoroughly enjoyed both although D4D is definitely more polished so that one edges it out for me.

I don't know if 2016 is just an insanely good year, but it's the first year I've really tried to keep up with every major release and make a list of the best, and I've gotta say, I finally appreciate just how hard it is to cut down all the community's offerings to just a handful of wads. Second Choice: One of the three main JPCP contributors (burabojunior, Toooooasty, Nanka Kurashiki), but I'm not really sure how to pick just one of them

No real opinions about any of the remaining awards. Linguica and Quasar are the names most commonly being nominated for the Espi, but my only thought on that award is that I'd like to see Jimmy get it someday.

Obvious points of contention:
-I still haven't played Nihility: Infinite Teeth, Legacy of Heroes, Newgothic Movement 2, No End in Sight, or Return to Hadron E2. All of them seem like solid contenders for at least Honorable Mentions, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Nihility or No End in Sight get a Cacoward.
-I'm not considering Romero's levels as part of the running. I'd like to see them get some kind of shoutout, but not one of the top 10 awards.

Seriously, this year is nuts. AA and JPCP are the only wads I consider truly untouchable, and as long as they get recognized in the top 10, I'll be happy.
