Old versions of FreeDoom, anyone?

Does anyone have old versions of FreeDoom IWAD's, like 0.1 and everything that followed since then? I am in need of them to trace the development of the project because I'm thinking of writing the article (or something like that) about FreeDoom's progress from one release to the other, until it's final version... if it will happen :)

So, anyone can share it with me/us, please?

Some of them aren't available anymore due to some asshat throwing in copyrighted music. I'm sure someone has a copy of the problematic releases, but I don't.

There are some old versions that you can find. Make a Google search for "Freedoom 0.6.3" or older, and tell it to search specifically for Freedoom, not Freedom, and you'll get them.

Versions from 0.6.4 and later are on the official site.

I can recommend looking around in those old websites I mentioned that are now frozen in time at The Internet Archive to see if there's anything more of interest.

an archive i have of E V E R Y freedoom wad. gets monthly updates with the autobuild from the day its updated

 btw the zip with 0.1 - 0.12.1 is Freedoom 2003-2019.zip

also i took the time to label every version in the zip. the wads named freedoom#-v12-0 or FreeDM-v12-0 are an autobuild from may of this year.

too bad some of the 2001 wads are lost.

(EDIT: y'know i take that back, only one is lost. the sprites wad, although everything is in the freedoom.wad file so yeah.)

yeah. 0.6.3 is really hard to find, i found ONLY the phase 2 wad and thats it. i havent archived it and i dont think i should due to it being what started that whole copyright fiasco to begin with.

Yeah, note the comment about multiposting. Besides the unnecessarily long string of posts, you don't have to announce something like "i made another gif of a really old health bonus sprite from 0.5" before sharing it in a separate post; just wait and post that + sprite together.

Almost all old versions can be downloaded from sourceforge, from version 0.3 to 0.6.2

I remember fraggle posting a link in the freed∞m discord to a GitHub page that had all the versions. Even the beta ones

I was dumb and didn't save it 😂
