Doom 3 Won't Launch

Hi all, I signed up here just to see if anybody could help me with this problem. I have an original retail version of Doom 3 and had installed and played it on my Windows 7 system with little issue. But when I tried recently to launch the game it simply will not start at all. The process starts for a split second in the Task Manager but then disappears. I have tried running it as administrator, in different compatibility modes, as well as reinstalling but none of those have worked. I'm simply at a loss for what the problem could be, considering it had worked fine before,
so I would appreciate it if anybody has some advice or possible solutions.

Try to install the latest update Patch in your game directory , And see if it helps .
