(...Ignoring that the framerate of the game isn't even remotely close to 60Hz at any point.) To be honest, I never knew what the [E] and [JU] on Sega Genesis ROMs meant, so I always just stuck with [E] HorrorMovieGuy said:lol @ that custom title Anyways, go for it. I really want to hear a proper blast-processed Doom ost. Because of the way the 32X music sounds, I call it Ass-Processing, the blast being the waves of shit vibrating on your eardrum creating sound, but there has to be an ass to process that steaming pile of shit. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted January 7, 2016 [E] = Europe [U] = USA [J] = Japan If multiple letters, then it's the same game released in two places. I'd say it would be wise to stick with the NTSC (JU) version. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
betabox Posted January 7, 2016 I'm not going to hype this up because I don't even know if it has anything that will be useful to the OP. Hence why I wrote might. Like side-by-side comparison possibly helping him identify anything in the data that hasn't been yet. It's indeed one of the prototype versions of the game. But, you just said something like this won't be useful to you, so don't get your hopes up. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

J is for Japan; U is for North America (not just the USA as it'd imply; Canada is covered here too); E is Europe. European versions of games, until a generation or three ago, were almost always inferior products to the other two regions, because they'd run at 50Hz instead of 60Hz, and the game's coders only very rarely bothered to adjust the game to take this into account, resulting in gameplay and/or music playing slower than intended. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I did not at all say that, I said that it probably wasn't the prototype due to the context of your other post. A prototype is a gold mine for hacking, especially if it is near complete, as it will be the closest to the final build but with potential debug features, or features that would be nice in the final game but cut out. but an older one is very helpful still. I am definitely looking forward to seeing it, and I think it would be useful. Also, dump that ROM and upload it, that thing is a piece of video game history. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
betabox Posted January 7, 2016 My bad, my bad. I misinterpreted your post. Alright then, I will have that video of the proto's features sent over to you sometime next week. Meantime, I just sent you a PM with some questions and whatnot about this. By the way, there is another proto which is closer to the final version than this, but it might have different thing placements. That could come in handy. Still working on that one, though. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Why aren't you just dumping the rom image to the net? Why you be hoarding? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Job Posted January 7, 2016 I'm hoping the end result of this is the ability to make SNES Doom levels. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Job Posted January 8, 2016 Shadow Hog said:Completely different engine.I'm aware of that. Programming-wise, I've no idea if it's possible to be able to load a module, or something, that allows SNES Doom with its respective engine to be mapped for in Doom Builder (or anything for that matter). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shadow Hog Posted January 8, 2016 You're very unlikely to get that end result out of a thread focusing on the 32X game. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Death Egg Posted January 10, 2016 You know, I've wondered before, why not make a completely new port of the game to the 32x so you have complete control over the source code? I dunno if anyone would be up to doing that though. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Danfun64 Posted January 11, 2016 Even if you do decide to make a new port, I'd still recommend you use the jaguar code as a base. If some of the MARS references are still in the code, some of the work has been done already. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Hope he is OK, where ever he his. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

He is - he's done some work on the Dreamcast code for 3DGE in the past and we are still in contact, just a busy man is all! =) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
