The new SSG...?

Just came to say the following:

Who made the new SSG sprites (Sodaholic, raymoohawk or someone else)?

The main part:

Why in the world does it resemble the SSG from H-Doom?
Is that what the new SSG sprites were based on?

We want an explanation.

They're from Demon Eclipse, Eriance donated them to Freedoom.

More likely the other way around: The H-Doom one might be based on Eriance's work. I haven't even seen the weapons, I'm just guessing.

Let me be kind and explain the joke for a minute: The initial poster said it felt wrong to have a weapon in Freedoom that resembled the HDoom super shotgun despite that shotgun actually being an Eriance sprite for the previously existing Demon Eclipse, so Ray here is joking that they should tell Beth (who owns iD) to have the monsters removed from the original Doom because the HDoom monsters look like them.

Sorry for the bump, but just to came to ask a question.

I've been trying to find the old SSG in the attic, but I just can't find it. I looked through the history of commits to see if it was moved to the attic. I didn't find anything.

Does anyone know where the old SSG is in the attic?

I have already tried several times to attract attention to the fact that the attic seems to have stopped updating around the time v0.10 was released. There has been no official response from the maintainers so far.

You can still find the old SSG sprites in the older releases (like v0.9 and below), which are still available at GitHub, including sources.

Let's see. SSG sprites. Pistol sprites (:D). Armor sprites. Bonus pickup sprites. Weapon pickup and ammo sprites. Anything else?

I was really hoping I wouldn't have to resort to extracting the sprites from the IWADs. Oh well, at least its given me a reason to get an older version of Freedoom.

You don't have to, each of the older versions has the source package available for download where the sprites are in the GIF format.

According to GitHub, the latest commit to the attic was on December 6, 2015. Which means that everything replaced after v0.10 (December 16, 2015) did not get moved to the attic.

I suppose that GitHub allows to track what items were replaced at which date, so you will be able to know what needs to be added to the attic still (from v0.9 and v0.10 sources).

Because it is just explicit (as you said), weird, and nonsensical for it to even be a WAD for Doom. That is why it is hated

Also what old one are you talking about? Their are multiple old Double Barreled Shotgun sprites back in this game's past.
