That constantly moving, "skateboarding" gameplay reminds me of Dishonored

And this is a great thing! Anyone else agree? I've had so much fun making the craziest long chain combo kills and parkouring in that game. If Doom is really similar then I am sold. I also hope we can make some crazy platforming challenge levels in Snapmap. A mix between Quake 3 Defrag mod and Super Mario Maker.

Not quite, but I can kind of see where you're coming from. The parallel I might draw is Titanfall. But again, not exactly right.

It's good to see a lot more games recently realise that movement is a huge part of games, and pay more attention to it.

Dishonored has probably the best movement in any first-person game, in my opinion. Everything feels right, it's smooth and slick. The sprinting is actually faster than walking and there's no stamina. You have a double jump and can climb onto stuff. It's amazing. Obviously Doomguy will probably not be as agile as Corvo but if DOOM4 is heading in a somewhat similiar direction then it's gonna be awesome.

Dying Light, that zombie game has by far the best first person parkour hands down. Better than Dishonored. I'm not comparing game quality here as I believe Dishonored is way better in story, acting, world, creativity and abilities. Combat wise, Dying Light can be great but only in later game once you unlock some of your best abilities.

I've heard that there's "vertical exploring" involded, I mean from what I understood the levels are not just about going forward or backward but also having to move vertically in the level to reach places and secrets.

Dying Light parkour is pretty good from what I've seen. But it focuses on a bit more elaborate representation of it, with specific 'hands' / 'climbing' animations which makes it a bit slower. In Dishonored climbing is lightning fast, very smooth in comparison.
