Decided to add a decorative outdoor area on the left-hand side of E3M3 (it will extend further to the right once complete): Started adding actual Cathedral-esque details to E3M5: Somewhat inspired by Thy Flesh Vored, I settled on a Quake/Doom 64/Gothic theme for E4, to distinguish it more from E3 (the GSTONE bricks are new, the leaves are from OTex, the windows, arches, and dark metal are from GothicTex, and the wood is from Freedoom, but it all gels quite nicely I think): Added some horizon detail and Doom-cute to MAP01 (big thanks to Solmyr for the vending machines, Scuba Steve for the couch & cafe textures, and Las Rojas for the table). I just need to add a small off-duty shop and improve the outdoor area on the south of the map, and then MAP01 is done!: Levelled up on Boom conveyor scripting in MAP02. A single switch press causes the silver walls to lower revealing waterfalls, the water level to rise once that's done, and the silver bars to then open (although on the other side, as I took the shot from the wrong angle - do'h!): Edit: I just spotted both a misalignment and a missing texture in this pic ;) Edited July 18, 2021 by NiGHTMARE 26 Quote Share this post Link to post

kwc Posted July 21, 2021 (edited) Some more selective screens from my ever-in-progress THPS-themed concert map: Derelict skate shop where players will be able to conveniently stock up on weapons/ammo. The road + buildings circle the perimeter of the map space, still trying to think of different "diy" skate structures that can fill out these roads. (hmu with tips if you got any) This was the very first "setpiece", or like, prop-laden area that I made when I started this, so I inevitably always like taking shots of it. Outside the warehouse, as you can tell I like trash cans and dumpsters. Just finished the layout of this basketball court, will probably add some "skateable" ramps and rails, maybe some overturned basketball hoops. Inside the warehouse, heavily themed on the first level of THPS1. Mostly complete but I got to get working on that secret tape area, still find 3D floors a bit intimidating though so I'll have to sketch the layout first. Very unfinished concert stage area, idea is that the road gives way or crumbles into this sort of DIY concert space, still have about a month to flesh it out though. LindaIsHere Posted July 21, 2021 (edited) the first maps I made were GZDoom maps with lots of bells and whistles so I figured for my next thing I should try my hand at making a more traditional map in the Boom format and I'm having a lot of fun with it. When I don't have 3D floors it makes architecture more of a challenge but in a fun way. The theme of the map is a futuristic industrial park with a spaceport stapled to it. I have no idea what I'm calling it right now. Spaceport area not made yet also a fun thing: differentiating between teleporter entrances (blue) and exits (red) I wish it was easier to make gifs so I could show off the dynamic lighting in this map but oh well. Egregor Posted July 24, 2021 Here is a nice shot from a vanilla Heretic compilation episode I am working on. This is just scenery but I've been busy play testing and balancing the episode, which has been taking longer than expected as it is *way* too hard and knowing how to intelligently hack apart others' monster and item placement to make the episode more reasonable has been moving at a snail's pace. 15 Quote Share this post Link to post
