pcorf Posted April 30, 2021 (edited) Zone 400 is official. The long awaited sequel to Zone 300 is near completion. Only 7 more maps are needed to be made. Zone 400 will be a Vanilla compatible Doom 2 megawad featuring 32 all new maps split into varying themes, with testing done in Chocolate Doom to assure 100% is possible with everything. The goal is to get it released in July or August. It follows the same tactic as Zone 300 with 31 maps containing 400 linedefs and MAP32 with more than 400 linedefs. With such a limited amount of linedefs it has certainly been a good challenge in designing these maps, for example triangular sectors to cut down linedefs. Whacky storyline and level names, improved layouts with less linearity and more interconnection (although not perfect), all original MIDI soundtrack, and more challenging gameplay than it's predecessor but certainly no slaughtermaps. Welcome to the jungle of saturation, where the colour of nature truly overpowers your eyes as you breathe the fresh warm air of the Devonian jungle which has somehow been invaded by the monsters of Doom, Fatsos, Cacodemons, Imps and even a Cyberdemon among many others inhabit this swamp. It is one of the secret maps and my first jungle-themed map. I have a fascination of prehistoric jungles and felt proud making this map. Doomsday Posted May 8, 2021 (edited) I haven't completed much of the first map yet but here is a few screenshots. Haven't really decided on a name yet but I want the mod to be like Winter's Fury but more vanilla I guess. I'm hoping to make 3 Episodes for it, which is kind of hard cause I'm not good at continuing a map after making it's start point, I've heard it's a good idea to plan out the map by like sketching it out on paper.
