JonExMachina Posted September 8, 2023 Currently revising the map I made for RAMP 2023, pretty much rebuilding its combat from the ground up, doing some additional detail to areas that were undercooked, and exploring a bit with a fake 3D effect I discovered by accident, which sadly only works in PrBoom+ and DSDA-Doom rendering in OpenGL. DoomGappy Posted September 9, 2023 Have had many ideas for cool community projects, but I'm a super novice mapper so I just store them and wait until I mature a bit. One of them would be "Heads up", a map pack where no decorations on the flor would be allowed, so that mappers would have to get creative to make it look nice and appealing and also fun without changing the ground level. There would proibably be an upside down map somewhere in there, which would be fun too. Here are some screenshots of the yet untextured, unreleased, unedited, unpopulated test map. Wo0p Posted September 11, 2023 I'm trying to find the right amount of detail in my maps to convey the identity of an area without having to create all the small details that would realistically BE in those areas. Example here is an office space of a police station. Realistically there'd be a much bigger mess of papers and computers and telephones and whatnot but I think this is fine. MarketAnarchy Posted September 12, 2023 I finally got some inspiration to knock out a single fight speed map for map 16 in X². It took about an hour to make some custom textures and import them, then another five to make the map, 2 more tweaking the combat. It uses the same formula for all other X² maps, so this one has 16 sectors, 16 weapon pickups, 16 other pickups, and 256 monsters. I still have 2 sectors to and 2 of the sectors in use are just being used for teleporters so I could repurpose them elsewhere if I need them for some aesthetic choice. 23 Quote Share this post Link to post
