Potatoguy Posted April 18, 2016 Totalbiscuit has given his opinion on the Doom dilemma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztdKziK_aAs I have to agree on not picking any weapon up being a major dislike for the game. It's practically a thing for nearly every FPS game. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chezza Posted April 18, 2016 Someone already posted this link somewhere. But interesting video. Unfortunately this totalbiscuit fella seems confident that the game is suffering from an identity crisis and it's just another Quake Live. Just like many others who criticize this Beta, they forget how small of portion these MP matches are in the bigger picture of Doom. SP is a big deal, other MP modes, various weapon mods and Demons are coming and finally the realm of Snapmap can introduce years of content if Bethesda and id choose to support it long enough. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
wheresthebeef Posted April 18, 2016 Totalbiscuit is no fool, and he craves for a return to classic FPS game design, as highlighted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q6UQ2QlRH0 It's unfortunate he didn't like the beta, however the SP campaign is where its at. Snapmap and MP are just salad dressing and croutons, the campaign is the big, giant, crunchy juicy salad, with tomatoes and chicken and gibs. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
watstha Posted April 19, 2016 Not as bad or completely hive minded as I though it would be. I really like how he maintains his fanboy side in check and actually gives pretty good and thoughtful opinions on why he found the Beta just decent. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chubzdoomer Posted April 19, 2016 I agree with basically everything he said. The MP definitely feels like it lacks its own identity. It's an odd mixture of oldschool and newschool, and doesn't exceed at either. I think even something as small as including music in MP could've potentially changed that. After all, how many modern games feature metal music in the background as you're blowing guys away? Totalbiscuit's analyses are almost always on-point. Definitely way better than the "Worth a Buy?" guy's. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gzegzolka Posted April 19, 2016 Sometimes I have different point of view that Totalbisuit, but I like watching his videos and he seems to be experienced with pc gaming. I like a lot that he looks on technical stuff, explore options, fov etc. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Either way, he mirrors how I feel about the MP 100%. Now let's see about the Single Player. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
