Can I watch the stream from the start? Don't want to jump into the middle of it. I know youtube streams allow you to watch from the start even mid-stream.

Should be able to watch it from "Past Broadcasts": https://www.twitch.tv/bethesda/profile

that basketball thing was pretty embarrassing lol. spend millions of dollars on a game and this is what u can do? also, not showing E1M2... and only taking stupid questions from chat when people are asking genuinely good question.

The only cool thing was the mancubus boss thing where you were TP'd to a E1M8-ending like place where you can't see shit and are shooting demons. and porting back and forth.

Looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun. I hope to see a shitload of modules come out for it though. I got to the parkour map and had to go cause of work, but some of the stuff they showed looks very promising. Not the next doombuilder by any means, but entertaining nonetheless :)

Looking forward to it big time. I feel it's almost safe to say it's like the Super Mario Maker of the new Doom.

Well that looks really cool. Snap map could probably be the best content creator tool on consoles.

That was the ONLY cool thing to you? You liked absolutely nothing else they showed?

I think it's gonna be cool to check out e1m2 when we get the game instead of seeing it early. Just my opinion though :)

I saw at least one person complain in the twitch chat that they didn't show if it was going to feel like doom. Which seems more like something that would happen with the sp stream on Wednesday.

So you can turn off loadouts, Adjust movement speed, And play CTF And more than the 6 modes they showed in last trailer .

Snap map points? do we have to unlock snapmap features?

Yup, alot of content is being locked away that you'll have to grind though to get. Which is completely stupid. I don't want to spend hours playing shitty maps made by retards just to unlock content so i can create awesome maps.

It's like the devs spend their weekends eating rubber cement and then try to come up with ideas.

Then don't play shitty maps.

Simple ;)

I'm satisfied with what I saw for now. Hopefully a few larger rooms will be released for some epic slaughterfests which will only be one room cause consoles, but hey, I get to spread my madness to them too.

Missed most of the stream other than the tail end of the Baron minigame, but seems like you needed some trash called Facebook Connect to use chat and supposedly all they answered were the stupid questions anyways, so I wasn't missing much really. Guess I'll give the whole thing a look-see later on. Apparently there's things you can do with the hud or something.

I have to say, for a "prefab-based" map creator, they cleared wanted to pack as much possibility of customization in as possible. Coupled with all the little (and big) tweaks you can do...I am impressed.

Some of those snapmap creations really reminded me of people screwing around with ZDoom ACS scripting, which is probably the best thing it could remind me of. Maybe it's just because Tom Mustaine is a real OG, but it felt like the Snapmap team has a good handle on the spirit of Doom modding and are willing to have fun with it. Obviously it's not going to be a "replacement" for Doom mapping in any real sense, but it looks like a good and robust tool to mess around in.

I've got a sneaking suspicion they remade the entire classic DOOM episodes for snap map and it'll be free DLC or paid DLC.

After seeing this, snap map blew away my expectations. Cannot wait to see how this pans out, but it's looking super positive!

Yeah after watching the stream I can say that I'm impressed with the level of customization they were able to pack into that thing. It really looks like they retained a lot of the spirit of doom modding with SnapMap, even if users won't actually be able to do any real mapping in it. I'll likely find myself playing a lot of user creations, so kudos there.

That said, it's definitely not entirely going to be for me. My favorite part of mapping is actually creating the map, and snapping together pre-fabs is not really my idea of mapping. I love the personal touch that I can give to my maps by dragging around my own linedefs and vertices, creating my own architecture and texturing my own way.

Clearly that was never gonna be the aim here, but that's totally ok. Not trying to criticize the final product here, as I think SnapMap looks cool. I imagine there will be plenty of fun things to try out once people get their hands on it. There will always be Doom Builder to fill my mapping void.

To justify this complaint, please tell us exactly what content, how much is "locked away", and how long it'd take to grind through to receive anything important (assuming anything important is actually "locked").

Seems like at least some of it, and you can unlock it via singleplayer progression or buy via snapmap points.

BTW: the stream is now in past broadcasts:

Personally i will be playing lots of different maps to get inspiration for myself. I already have an idea of a race with lots of monsters and obstacles where you would gain points by finishing laps and killing monsters.

On the flipside, creating new modes and gameplay is going to be a lot easier, which seems to be the main focus this time around.

Who knows, maybe after they have realeased all the DLC, we'll get an improved version of SnapMap or even Id Studio.

It looks pretty good!

The fact that you are limited to prefab rooms sucks, as so does that you have to earn "snap points" to unlock them, but i gotta say, it really looks like you can craft something fun, and just screw around with it to make something crazy. Also i loved the "mancubus boss fight", it looked rather good
