DMPhobos Posted April 29, 2016 I have an intense dislike of brown textures because of the default textures, they get quite tiresome to watch and i tend to avoid them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

VGamingJunkie Posted April 29, 2016 The key is a healthy balance of colors, every single texture in the game will look crap if you apply it to everything. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

hex11 Posted April 29, 2016 BROWNHUG seems to go with the NUKE* textures. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Deleted_Account Posted April 30, 2016 What if you use BROWNHUG for the entire map? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
VGamingJunkie Posted April 30, 2016 Then it'll probably look very ugly, as would any texture if you overly use it. In my opinion, a good map has a good variety, not too much of any one color. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kuchitsu Posted May 1, 2016 BROWNHUG has a funny name. I think it just wants some hugs. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Put it into a lovely looking painting with normal coloring then have the SOMEMONG version pop in front of a hell landscape. So it's like the house is being corrupted. I wonder how Carn would react knowing that his face would be the antagonist of a horror WAD. Then again, it seems his face is already the antagonist of Terry WADs. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cruduxy Pegg Posted May 1, 2016 Not every single wall need to have a unique texture. It isn't even realistic to begin with and looks even more stupid than a uniform wall paint. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
franckFRAG Posted May 1, 2016 IMO, I like very much used Doom2 textures, even if I'm getting a little bored. Also, I use BROWNHUG texture like default texture when I make my layouts, it's a pretty homogeneous texture, that facilitates the mapping. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
CheeseOnTheMoon Posted May 5, 2016 I never had a problem with them. Not completely to my liking, but I can't really think of anything better. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I almost never use them in my maps. You mean STARTAN&CRACKLE? I dunno, they kinda universal when you don't know what texture you wanna use (because of poor choice). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
